WEDDING TIMELINE

 

Planning a wedding is less stressful once you break it down into manageable steps. This 12 month wedding countdown guide will be a useful checklist to help you make sure things are on track.

 

12 MONTHS TO GO

 

·                     Select a date.

·                     Set a budget (consult your families)

·                     Select principal sponsors, wedding entourage and liturgical members.

·                     Draft a guest list (with contact numbers please)

·                     Attend the two-day marriage seminar (a church requirement)

 

10 MONTHS TO GO

 

·                     Finalize the wedding date

·                     Finalize your wedding entourage

·                     Reserve the church/ceremony and reception venue

·                     Canvass for printers for your invitation and misalette. Select designs.

·                     Hire a wedding coordinator/planner.

 

6 MONTHS TO GO

 

·                     Have your invitations and thank you cards printed

·                     Choose your color motif

·                     Meet your designer to finalize designs and schedule the measurements and fittings for you and your entourage

·                     Decide whether the groom will wear a barong or a suit, and meet prospective tailors

·                     Select your officiating priest

·                     Have your misalette draft approved by your priest before final printing

·                     Start interviewing prospective suppliers: florists, photographers, videographers, musicians/choirs, soloists, caterers, wedding cake artists, make-up artists and bridal car provider.

 

5 MONTHS TO GO

 

·                     Choose your suppliers and finalize their contracts

·                     Begin gown fittings. Ask someone in your entourage to help you coordinate everyone’s schedules

·                     Canvass for wedding rings and purchase by the end of the month. Don’t forget your arrhae

·                     Meet with your caterer to discuss the details of the menu. Begin food tasting

·                     Finalize your guest list. Get the full names, addresses and contact numbers of each guest

·                     Begin choosing souvenirs and gifts for your entourage

 

4 MONTHS TO GO

 

·                     Send your misalette to the printer for the first proof

·                     Purchase your souvenirs and your gifts for the entourage.

·                     Invitations should have been printed by this time

·                     Finalize your church and reception songs with your musicians/choir/soloists

·                     Consult a travel agent for your honeymoon plans

 

3 MONTHS TO GO

 

·                     After checking the proof of the misalette, send it for final printing

·                     Begin working on your church requirements

·                     Schedule your make-up trials. Choose your make-up artist by the end of the month

·                     Finalize the church and reception’s design details with your florist/decorator

·                     Finalize your menu, beverage and other details with your caterer

·                     Finalize your honeymoon details and itinerary with your travel agent

 

1 MONTH TO GO

 

·                     Go to a wedding gift registry with your fiancé

·                     Begin delivering invitations

·                     Allot time for shower parties, which are typically scheduled at this time

·                     Start calling for R.S.V.P. Enlist the help of friends

·                     Reconfirm all bookings with all your suppliers

 

2 WEEKS TO GO

 

·                     Notify your caterer of your final number of guests

·                     Start on your seating plan for your presidential table and reserved tables (if applicable)

·                     Deliver the gowns to the entourage

·                     Pick up the groom’s outfit from the tailor

·                     Break in your bridal shoes

 

1 WEEK TO GO

 

·                     Hold your despedida de soltera

·                     Buy last-minute items: stockings, robe, etc.

·                     Confirm your bridal car pick-up and hotel room reservation

 

1 DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING

 

·                     Go to a spa for a relaxing massage

·                     Have a manicure and a pedicure

·                     Relax!!!!
